I’m taking part in a triathlon later this year and need a wetsuit. Are there any suits that are specially designed for women?
Amanda (19), Derby
First of all, good luck! The right wetsuit will certainly make a real difference to your performance - and the great news is that we’ve got some handy suggestions tucked under our belts.
When it comes to wetsuits, the Ironman range really does stand apart from the crowd. It’s no surprise when you think that the new Ironman Aqua Sphere wetsuits have been designed in partnership with leading triathletes, including Ironman world champion, Faris Al Sultan.
The results speak for themselves with suits that boost performance through highly advanced fabrics, exceptional range of motion, reduced drag and buoyancy panels that support correct body position within the water.
The WRacer ladies’ fit has been designed for female triathletes looking for buoyancy, flexibility and warmth. The technology really is second to none. The Yamamoto SCS Nanoskin ensures you glide through the water with the greatest of ease.
Expect greater comfort with the Aqua-Flex™ collar, less drag with the forearm Power-Zone™ traction technology, leak-resistant cuffs and an effective chafe-guard under the arms.
My daughter swims four times a week. Is a chlorine-resistant swimsuit a good idea?
Rachel (27), Manchester
You’ll definitely find that a chlorine-resistant swimsuit will last longer than a non-resistant suit. So although you might spend a bit more, you won’t need to replace it as often.
Just as importantly for girls, chlorine-resistant suits keep their good looks for longer. Colours are much less likely to fade and the suit should keep its shape. We’ve got a fab selection at mailsports.co.uk - why not take a look for something that suits your daughter?
I have two young children and this summer we’re off to Spain for three weeks. I really want to keep fit while being away but get bored just swimming lengths. Any ideas on exercises I can do while keeping an eye on the kids?
Julie (32), Cambridge
Lucky you - three weeks in sunny Spain sounds perfect!
Lots of free time to spend in the pool is a not-to-be-missed training and keep fit opportunity.
Why not try out Aqua Sphere’s Ergo Belt?
It’s a brilliant little buoyancy belt that’s ideal for low impact water running and aquarobics. It should put a stop to any potential pool boredom and it’s small enough to pack nice and neatly into your case. Hope you and the kids have a great holiday!
